Welcome to my photography web site. Please vote for your favorite photos!

You can order professional quality prints from this website. Just click buy as you look at an image and it will take you to the order page. Please be aware that transferring a digital image viewed on a monitor to a print ready for framing is an art, not a science. The process includes time for me to create a soft proof of the image before it is printed and sent to you. If you are ever less than fully pleased with your prints, please let me know at: phylliswh@mindspring.com.

I am a professional historian and have been creating images both as a painter and photographer for years.

My goal as a photographer is to inspire people to look around them and see their own world -- in new ways. I concentrate primarily on local landscapes. While the iconic scenes in Yosemitie, the Grand canyon, Patagonia, and Nepal are amazing natural wonders already painted and photographed by generations of gifted artists, there are many small splendors in our own gardens and towns, nearby waterways, and directly above us in the everchanging skies. It is these small splendors as well as grand scenes that I hope to capture and share with you.
